Volcano Tours in Kamchatka Peninsula

Kamchatka's volcanoes are arguably the most beautiful and are found in abundant throughout the peninsula. The entire region features high density of volcanoes with most of them being still active. Some of these volcanoes are also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Tourists who visit this place make it a point to have a guided tour of Kamchatka volcanoes. Off the various volcanoes found in this region, some of the most famous and frequently visited ones include Avacha, Mutnovsky and Gorely. The Avacha volcano is considered to be the most active from the lot and has recently erupted in 1991. Mutnovsky is another one which last erupted in 2000 due to which an acid lake was formed in its crater. The Gorely volcano features 11 craters and has erupted in 1980 with large ash fallout in its vicinity.

Klyuchevskaya Sopka standing at 4750m is the highest volcano and considered to be the largest active one in the entire Northern Hemisphere. The Kronotsky volcano regarded as one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world is also placed here.
